$5 MUSIC VIDEO: "Bars of Pain" DoethePaperboy

Bars of Pain from simon kim on Vimeo.

DOENATION.COM

First and foremost, big shout outs to V.A.S.K. and Simon Kim for allowing Grape to be apart of this momentous event.
Shot in below-freezing temperatures in the historical Old Towne Petersburg district, DoethePaperboy's music video debut came out seamlessly.
Film genius and $5 Music Video founder Simon Kim (@kimshimwon and www.kimshimwon.com) and his crew crushed the editing room and got this video out in light-speed time so that Doe's fanbase could get a buzz as soon as humanly possible.
Virginia's art and music scene is rapidly on the rise thanks to these entrepreneurs and their due-diligence in creating quality entertainment.
Not only aimed at keeping our heads bobbing, V.A.S.K. and DoethePaperboy also educate our youth and promote positive messages, leaving lasting impressions on everyone that crosses their path.

Grape appreciates y'all, and so will everyone else.

Prosperity.

Spent the day with V.A.S.K. at DoethePaperboy's video shoot for upcoming heat "Bars of Pain"
Cold-ass winds and good people making dope films.
Shouts to my man Simon Kim and his peoples holding down the cameras. These dudes brought coffee at one of the coldest parts of the day - drinking coffee like Gatorade after a pick-up game.

DoethePaperboy - Doenation The Leak

Dropped on one of the biggest mixtape platforms known in HipHop is Petersburg, VA's latest gift.
DoethePaperboy, one of VASK's generals and local show-stopper, kills it from the first track. Positive messages matched with real life  story-telling mastery, white-hot beats... we could go on for days.
DJ Sleep EZ, part of the East Coast turntable crew The Footclan, hosts the tape and cameos from other SK members give the audience variety without taking away from this solo project... something most current rappers take for granted.
Doe's impact on the local scene has built him a following that sells shows out, even an hour from his hometown, and this mixtape is going to be pumped heavily by us in the near future.
Grape rocked this tape for hours last night with great response, and we are extremely confident our supporters will feel the same way.

Look for Doe's collaboration with Richmond pop stars Against Grace on iTunes titled "Monday" and download The Leak mixtape here:

Grape Origins...

First off, crazy video!
Second, the guy rocking the mask is Nick Paparone. I remember playing T&C Surf Factory on the original Nintendo while he babysat for me and his little sister. She wanted me to tag my neighborhood and listen to KRS One before I gave a shhh about things outside of G.I.Joe's. Basically, life-changing siblings.
Now her big brother is opening up public art galleries all over Philly, studying sculpture at Columbia, running PrintLiberation.com, and kicking major ass.
He's also co-authored a wonderful book entitled "Print Liberation."
We saw a copy at the Barnes and Noble in Midlothian the other day so we put it out in the open for all to view. Maybe it will change someone else's life the way it did ours.
It's a how-to for screen printing complete with brief histories, industry advice and instructions on how to make your own single color print press and printing station.
Shouts out to Nick for helping us get off the ground, even though he had mad work to do.
Help your friends and family when they need it. You never know what your assistance can birth. With us, it has birthed Grape - spreading fresh ish and positivity until the wheels fall off.
Peace to you and yours.

Strange Matter - Super Soldier Serum

Jan. 14, 2011.
Strange Matter - 929 W. Grace St. Richmond, VA 23220

Super Soldier Serum was presented to Richmond by Slapdash and hosted by our city's own Cain McCoy.
Headlining the event was one of VA's strongest artists right now - Nickelus F, who's supporting cast included a myriad of mad-talented RVA emcees. Booki Bluntz, DJ Rhetorik and their peoples kept the night moving behind the tables while local lifestyle shop Kulture represented by hyping the event.
An eclectic crowd shouted along to the night's soundtrack and the energy in the building was beautiful.
Shouts to all the people supporting Richmond's music and streetwear scene. The Lux Brands represented their newest shirt designs and Grape armed the public with instructions on how to wheatpaste, including an upcoming design for ammunition, thanks to Slapdash
Great groups of people crossed with real music... this is what needs to happen regularly.

The National - Thanksgiving Eve

Nov. 24, 2010.

The National - 708 E. Broad St. Richmond, VA 23219

Very dope show - all walks of life.
Lots of different music and a ton of love and support was felt by all.
Grape was in the building as well, showing support - peep the "Revolver" tee my man T-Jae is wearing on stage.
Keep your eyes open - V.A.S.K. is doing big things repping Petersburg and The Commonwealth State, making The National one of their mainstays for 2011 and beyond.
That night they led Against Grace, other VA-bred musicians, into their headlining set with style.
