Radio Rubber Room, EP14 - Black Liquid x Grape Cloth
"This week, Black Liquid joined us and he brought Iain with Grape Cloth - A really cool RVA tee-shirt company. We talked hip hop, what it takes to host a radio show and finally got to the bottom of who would win in a fight between Chuck Norris and Steven Seagal. Black is a brilliant guy and he had a lot to say. It was hard for our pea-brains to keep up, but there was enough knowledge in his words that even the pea brains walked away with some fresh wisdom. Will you? Just like every other week, Simone and his mom joined us for "Simone Says", and Simone's mom continued to resist any and all sexual advancements by Dan... but how long will she last??? Most importantly, this was the first show that could be heard on 102.9FM and all around Richmond. If you missed it, download the podcast from iTunes, and don't forget to subscribe for free." - Radio Rubber Room

Conrizzle IS OUR NEWEST SPONSORED ARTIST
Navigating a MacBook equipped with Fruity Loops software like a master ice sculptor wielding his favorite chainsaw, Conrizzle has been making the biggest beats for some of your favorite artists for a long time.
Hailing from Goldsboro, NC, Conrizzle's voice and unique flow have allowed him to gain the respect and admiration of the Hip Hop industry; along with a fan following stretching all over the country.
Constructing rhymes that are never transferred to paper, he is at home among a new class of rappers and writers abandoning their marble notebooks and relying on pure intelligence... those that use their photographic memory for a greater cause. He isn't merely remembering what billboards say on rarely traveled roads - he is building couplets and rhyme schemes that tell true stories in clever ways.
Grape headed down south to visit Conrizzle a couple weeks ago and heard some of the realest bars ever recorded. We knew he spit the truth after immersing ourselves in his world. The struggle and humor presented in Conrizzle's work is a direct product of how he carries himself: calculated and open-minded, witty and focused.
We are proud to announce official sponsorship of producer, engineer, song-writer and emcee: Conrizzle. Much more is to come from Grape, Conrizzle and his G5 Music Group, in the upcoming weeks.
Go visit WWW.IKNOWRIZZLE.COM for his newest mixtape "Breath of Fresh Air". Also view his www.WorldStarHipHop.com music video debut "Sweetheart" featuring G5 artist Mr. Ivory Snow, and tons of other intimate content.

Catastrophe strikes when we seem the most comfortable. Trends come and go, interests shift and we fixate on aspirations and dreams, all the while willfully becoming blind to inevitable tragedy.
Bad transforms to worse in seconds and the scrambling to help grows frantic.
Timing is crucial for rebirth and reconstruction. We want to help facilitate constant aid to those in need.
In conjunction with West Coast Kix owner Ben Margolis, we have printed 24 limited edition t-shirts, with all money raised to go the American Red Cross to help aid Japan's people in their time of need.
Go by the shop at 3016 West Cary Street, Richmond, VA 23221, to buy this limited edition West Coast Kix x Grape Cloth tee and show support for those that need it the most.

Joe Cool Speaks...
Good day young souls and Judgment Day survivors. Hope your staying blessed. I'm doing good myself. Anytime I breathe I believe I'm doing good anyway.
I've been back home in Louisiana for a week and a half now and things are all over the place. It's nice to see people actually paying attention to what I do now. I'm not really used to it yet. The one thing all this attention has taught me, however, is the difference between when someone is showing love, and when they're just kissing ass.
Some people who pretend to actually care just want something, either a helping hand or a material item most times, from you.
And sadly it's not always easy to catch their intentions.
The people who actually genuinely show love are the ones who know, comprehend your endeavors and commend you for your work. Those are the people I root for and go hard for. You can feel when someone shows you real love. They just want you to succeed, and that's all they will let you know.
Show someone love whenever you can. Real love. Even if it's someone you don't know. Do your best to motivate another being walking the earth. You'll feel good about yourself boi lol
A Word With Black Liquid

fu·ture
adjective /ˈfyo͞oCHÉ™r/
1. At a later time; going or likely to happen or exist
2. (of a person) Planned or destined to hold a specified position
noun /ˈfyo͞oCHÉ™r/
1. The time or a period of time following the moment of speaking or writing;
2. time regarded as still to come
3. Events that will or are likely to happen in the time to come
I love this word so much that it was the title of the last album I put out! I gotta ask you though, what is your future? Lightning bolts aside, I would say the same as mine, the present. So what are we waiting for, or better yet, are we even waiting? I spend everyday trying to get forward while sitting and standing in the same place. Perhaps the future is simply a growth of perspective. After all, growth requires time. I don't know. What? I said it. I'm not scared to admit that. What I am scared of is quitting, of holding on as well as I have been able to "let go". Oh well, the pieces get smaller while the puzzle get bigger.............

Hip Hop is more than just music; it is a influential, and very trendy, culture that has helped shape many minds. True supporters of the Hip Hop movement understand that not just anyone can relate to it, or to its forever changing identity.
Hip Hop was born out of a struggle, a struggle which many who are not familiar with the hardships of modern urban life could possibly never understand. Some think that this movement is trouble and only promotes violent and obscene behavior. At first glance this may seem to be true. However, you must take the time to fully understand the entire urban culture to relate. While to a set of virgin ears they may seem extreme, many of the things discussed in these lyrics are things that actually happen on a daily basis in our communities.
Although these things do take place, I am not saying that I either do or don't condone the use of these types of lyrics. The presentation format is of personal choice. My only observation would be to say that those artists who do come off rather extreme may limit the crowds that are willing to embrace this culture, which could ultimately lead to mediocre sales and limited longevity.
The evolution of Hip Hop is something that happened rather fast and, before anyone knew what they had, it was a fully operational machine. This machine has been used to influence culture and the lives of many in both a negative and positive way. I challenge any emerging artist to study this culture and learn to fully embrace it before you allow the trends of Hip Hop’s current path to influence your movement. As a MC I have been a student of Hip Hop since the early 80’s and have observed this progression. My own movement is in itself truly one with a unique purpose: V.A.S.K which stands for Vision, Ambition, Strength, and Knowledge. Our purpose is to educate and influence the culture to look at things in a more positive light.
I hope you enjoyed my introductory Blog and the many more that will be coming soon.

ST/MiC “In The Pocket” [FREE ALBUM]

It was about a year ago that our boy from Virginia, ST/MiC (who’s also a world renowned well respected emcee, DJ/remixer/producer/beatmaker/

Several months later, ST/MiC sent me 9 instrumental tracks that were going to serve as the skeleton of “In The Pocket” and asked me what I thought of them. I told him that some tracks he should get his rappity rappin’ ass friends to spit on and others he should allow to just rock on their own. I also suggested what kind of emcees should rock and on what tracks. We had a follow up phone conversation the next day and we agreed. MiC went back and recruited some emcees over his production…done all on an iPod Touch.
In early 2011, ST/MiC sent me an early WAV version of “In The Pocket” without cover art featuring scratches, bars and hooks from Moka Only, Jazz Addixx, Has-Lo, Praverb The Wyse, Primo The Cinematic & Waterloo. MiC decided to include all the instrumentals as well. Good call. A month later, MiC sent me a tagged, mastered mp3 version of “In The Pocket” with some gorgeous cover art. Given the recent success of the Producers I Know sponsored instrumental or producer based releases I knew that I’d be dropping this on both Bloggerhouse and Producers I Know. I can’t wait for you all to hear it as well.

In conclusion, the wait is over. I’ve done all the write ups I needed to. We’ve even played some of the beats on The Scrunchface Show. You’ve heard the single. Now hear the completed album. 15 total tracks, 6 with vocals from Jazz Addixx, Praverb The Wyse, Moka Only, Primo The Cinematic, Has-Lo & Waterloo. All 6 vocal tracks have instrumentals provided plus bonus instrumentals “Sumr” & “No Subshine”. I’m proud to finally present to you all ST/MiC’s “In The Pocket”. Enjoy.
One."

Chance Fischer speaks...
"I used to sit on my front porch in the West End thinking about what I wanted to do with my life. I ruled out all the regular jobs: fireman, doctor, lawyer, and policeman. Those jobs were too cliché for me. I was a bundle of energy searching for something challenging and unorthodox, something fulfilling. Now, as I sit reflecting a week before I graduate from an Ivy League institution, I can say that I’ve found my passion.
Most people who know me remember me as the guy who went to Cornell University to study the hotel business. It was a strange major to many of my peers. Cornell boasts the leading hospitality program in the world and has been the forerunner of many of the innovations in the business. It has produced various icons of industry, including the founders of Burger King and Arby’s. The funny thing is that I didn’t even want to go to college. I applied on a whim.
I was meeting with the recruiter from Brown University, learning more about their curriculum. At the time their academic freedom and open-structured curriculum enticed me, but I still wasn’t sold on college as a whole. I didn’t want to go just because everyone else was going; I wanted to have a purpose for going. College is a huge investment and my family isn’t close to being rich.
At the time I told him I was interested in doing something with the hotel business later in life and he put me on to Cornell. I didn’t even know what the place was before he told me. I took a visit, met with the "Hotelies", and fell in love with them. I applied to Brown and Cornell – the only college applications I completed – on December 25, 2006. I figured, if I was going to go to college, I should aim high and go for the gold. This has always been my strategy in life.
Fast forward four years. I’m leaving a prestigious university and everyone is asking me what the hell I’m going to do with my life. I’m telling them I’m pursuing a career in rap full time. Yes, I could have worked at some great Fortune 500 company. No, it has nothing to do with hotels or my degree (on the surface). The key to life, in my opinion, is evaluating all of your experiences, no matter how random, and finding a way to make them all connect and coexist. You’ll undoubtedly find success in all of your endeavors this way.
Truthfully, writing is my passion; music is just a small piece of a larger puzzle. I keep telling people life is about an end goal. It is not about fitting into some mold and pigeonholing yourself so that you can continue to put credentials behind your name. I chose Cornell because I knew it would connect me with titans, and give me access to the networks that I wouldn’t have even been aware of had I stayed home.
Meeting people that have a wealth of knowledge in various areas exposed me to a vast amount of opportunities and experiences. I don’t just have to be a hotel guy. I don’t just have to be a music guy. I don’t just have to be any one thing. I can pursue all of my passions. With my end goal being to make enough money that I can be a stay-at-home father and write fiction all day, I needed to put myself in an environment that would allow me to reap those benefits.
Now that I’ve garnered all these connections and experiences, I’m going to apply them first hand as an entrepreneur, as a musician. I’m not going to let my degree subject me to one field, but rather I’m going to apply all of the knowledge I gained from it to pursue my dream. I’ve lost a lot of people over these past four years and that really put life into perspective. Chasing someone else’s dream to make someone else’s money just so you can say you’re surrounded by prestige is pointless and will leave you empty in the end.
I’m not sharing my story to boast about my experiences but rather to encourage people to think outside of the norm. Be unique, and your uniqueness will attract attention and business. Make the mold that others fit into. Do what you want to do, but find a way to make sure that you that you can do it forever. My passions are writing and connecting with people, so I will always continue to make moves that will allow me to do both."

1. The condition of being uncertain; doubt.
There are those amongst us who have yet to decide despite their many decisions, those who are seemingly skilled in turning back the clock.
There are also those who are disappointed, and twice as many who cling to expectation. Why? Go ahead, get your Elmyra on. I do. That being said, is asking questions questioning? Is there something one of us has that will at least describe what the other is missing? Perhaps there is a reason why in retrospect that which has transpired is spoken of as "I have". Perhaps there is a reason why within uncertainty, lies certainty.....

jus·tice/Noun
1. the quality of being just; righteousness, equitableness, or moral rightness: -to uphold the justice of a cause.
2. rightfulness or lawfulness, as of a claim or title; justness of ground or reason: -to complain with justice.
3. the moral principle determining just conduct.
Have you ever seen the incredible film that is Steven Seagal's Marked For Death? I have. There was a point where Seagal, AKA White Boy Hatcher, having faced a crisis of conscience as the result of his last case and the death of his partner, goes to church for confession. Murder, sex, lies, all in the name of Justice. He decides to go back home to get in touch with who he is and ends up staying at his sister's, running into to old friends, and killing a bunch of Jamaican drug dealers. Now I saw this joint in the theater, me and this film go back like yesterdays, but what has always got me the most about it is the message. Here we have the edge of the blade, hacking its way through whatever, whoever, whenever for some cloud in the sky, and in the end, which is coincidentally the beginning, it is a clouded mind that has led to a clouded conscience. This blade has remained sharp, fully functional in all its intended purposes, yet dull through the force of its master. Knowing is not knowing why, and in wielding the weapon he forgets that he is the weapon. I remember as a kid thinking this is the cost, eggs to the omelet, a dish for those who dish. Now, believe it or not, I am in the business of Dish. Seagal slays all the Jamaicans, even Screwface, twice, and as the credits roll you can't help but ask yourself, what did we learn? This is what I learned, and am still learning: knowing why, is knowing how. See you next mission........

Get Started.
There has been a conscious effort on our part to make as much of an impact as possible in the shortest amount of time. We have been all over the place these last couple months, gearing up for the Summer and supporting those that we believe in.
Grape has tried to make a lasting impression on those that surround us; always pushing our message of positivity and growth.
It has been an extremely busy, stressful and, above all, exciting time for us and we acknowledge and appreciate the co-signs of our peers.
Grape has friends and affiliates living on four hours or less of sleep a day, all while holding down two and three jobs. We know why they do it though.
They head down this path searching for their moment of freedom. The time when you realize this is the beginning of sustainable self employment. The moment you realize you can feed your family without hating your job.
Our team consists of radio hosts, recording artists, performers, and canvas painters.
Street artists, moguls, entertainment managers and breakdancers.
Teenage minds thinking as business versions of utility infielders.
DJ's, photographers, directors and emcees, all sharing common goals, all striving to be free.
Believing in yourself is the first step towards success. If you find that you can't completely relate to this ideology, make a list and set out to achieve a goal - something simple. When completed, cross this off your list and add more.
You will find that the path up even the biggest and most daunting mountains is simply a collection of steps, each achievable if only you don't let you mind dwell on the vastness in front of you. Maybe you will not make it to the top.
Halfway up is better, however, than passing your life in the shadow of what could have been.
Get started.
We will meet you up there.

Well, well, well, what have we here but the very song of my bird. This past set of days has been crazy, and I bet you, whoever you may be, feel the same way about your life! This hat I'm dancing around is no different than the one you've been dancing around, and just like the very dance I'm referring to, the moment we get close to what it is we are after, we become so intoxicated that we somehow end up seeming farther away than we were at the start! Such is the courtship of dreams, effort. Just days ago I stood in front of a crowd of what may have been a thousand people, screaming my head off for 45 minutes straight, dying to live and living to die. When it was all over I could only think one thing: "What more will it take?" So I took my Grape Cloth shirt off, threw it in the crowd, and thought to myself, "Take what it will......"

The Holik on scene.
"Because We Can" was thrown recently to show the city of Richmond that four of it's major promoters could unite and throw one hell of a party. It was hosted by V.I.P Made Promo, Lunch Box E.N.T., Kool Rave Productions and T.N.T. Productions. I consider it to be the dopest party of the summer thus far.
When I first came up to the address, I would have never guessed that it was home to an explosive underground rave. In fact, it looked like it could be any of the empty storefronts and offices that crowd Main Street. Upon entering, however, any pretense of normalcy quickly slipped away...
Picture yourself in a cloud of smoke; the room illuminated by black lights, lasers, and glow sticks... So many dope dancers teaching me, for the first time, that there were different ways to dance to the wobble of Dub-Step. I'm a b-boy and had fun doing what i do to the music as well.
While networking, I met two of the dopest DJ's ever: DJ Misbehave and Crazy Josifehr. DJ Skywalker was in attendence and made the event even hotter.
Erock.TV filmed and Wicked 6 handled the photography.
Everywhere I looked I saw the Grape Cloth Godzilla Tee. Its Richmond streetwear diversified and unified.

Joe Cool Speaks...
What amazingly insane thing would you do to get to where you want to be?
We always hear people saying their working or "grinding"; but in reality there aren't many people out there making the sacrifices, nor taking the risks, to get to where they want to be.
One day you have to wake up and realize it's all talk and dreams until you take action.
To get everyone familiar with me I'm "Joe Cool", artist & producer from a music team that goes by "The Super Cookies". My story is simple: I skipped going to college to chase what some would call a silly dream. Honestly, I spent a year and a half doing nothing. Then one day I woke up like "what am I doing!!?" Ever since it's been a race. I recently left home to stay in California for a month to network, etc. I came with 20 bucks in my pocket. In all honesty, it's probably the best move I've made so far.
My point is you have to leave something behind to gain something new and maybe even better. Go hard or go to sleep for all eternity. This was a morning thought lol..get at chu guys later...
